The Vision for Tenmile Academy
Tenmile Academy
Tenmile Academy envisions expanding educational opportunity in Summit County through a tuition-free public school grounded in the classical school model. We believe children thrive when strong academic foundations, meaningful family partnership, and character development are paired with developmentally appropriate instruction. Through this approach, students develop the knowledge, wisdom, and habits of character that enable students to act responsibly, make sound decisions, and contribute positively to their communities.
Our Core Values
LEARN | Mastery through a Classical Model
We engage students in a rigorous, content-rich classical curriculum grounded in the study of influential texts, ideas, and traditions that have shaped human civilization. Students build strong foundations in reading, writing, mathematics, science, and history through engagement with primary sources and classical works. Through the Trivium—Grammar (knowledge acquisition), Logic (critical thinking), and Rhetoric (clear and persuasive communication)—students develop intellectual depth, mastery, and disciplined thinking across all subjects. The curriculum encourages students to explore a wide range of cultures, viewpoints, and contributions to human knowledge. We maintain high expectations and cultivate intellectual curiosity, personal responsibility, and academic excellence in all areas of learning.
PARTNER | Family Alignment and Collaboration
We recognize parents as essential partners in education. Through open communication, shared expectations, and meaningful collaboration, Tenmile Academy and families work together to support student growth, reinforce learning at home, and cultivate a consistent vision for academic achievement and ethical development.
LEAD | Character in Action
We guide students in applying the classical virtues of respect, responsibility, integrity, perseverance, and courage to every aspect of school life. By practicing these core character traits, students develop self-discipline, sound judgment, and ethical decision-making, preparing them to lead thoughtfully, act ethically, and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
